A New Governance Code for Community, Voluntary, Charity Organisations
The Working Group of eleven organisations which has developed the draft Governance Code for the community and voluntary sector in Ireland is pleased to announce that the public consultation period has been extended to July 29th 2011. The four week extension is a result of the feedback received during the seven national-wide workshops held in May and June. Please go to www.governancecode.ie, download the draft Code for your organisation and tell us what you think before July 29th.

To help you and provide a forum for any questions you might have, five 45-minute on-line 'webinars' (web-based seminars) have been organised for the following dates:

DCU Ryan Academy: Social Enterprise and Social Entrepreneurship Training and Reasearch
One of the strands within entrepreneurship that the Ryan Academy is developing is that of social enterprise. A vital part of the social and economic framework of Ireland, the Academy has developed a set of modules for social enterprise in its Life Long Learning (L3) programme including the popular Social Enterprise Development module. The Academy also is engaged in research and delivering conference papers on the subject of social enterprise, social entrepreneurship and social innovation.

The Wheel: Upcoming Training Courses
 
Training Links Grant Programme 2011-2013
- An innovative network-led grant programme developed by The Wheel to adress the shared training needs of community, voluntary and charity organisations.
 
How it works:
A training network may consists of organisations from the same town or area (regional); may be involved in similar activities (sectoral); or may have a shared interest in a specific subject (theme).
For the purpose of the Training Links programme, each network must have a minimum of ten organisations and it must choose a lead organisation to be the applicant organisation, which will be accountable for the funds.
