The Arthur Guinness Fund Award 2011

Published: 23 November 2011

Social Entrepreneurs Ireland is excited to announce that the Arthur Guinness Fund has re-opened for applications. Over the last two years nearly €2 million has been awarded to twenty projects and in 2012 funding of between €50,000 and €100,000 per project will be made available to social entrepreneurs who have projects that are innovative, impactful and sustainable, and make a real difference to Irish society.

There are two levels of support this year. For projects in the first two years of development, the fund will offer a ‘Challenge Grant’ with grants of up to €25,000 per annum for two years. Applications from social entrepreneurs who are at a more advanced stage (ideally two to five years in existence) can also apply, with grants of up to €50,000 per annum for two years. In addition, all successful applicants will benefit from access to the Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Alumni Network.

Guinness & Co. is working with Social Entrepreneurs Ireland to implement the fund. Please note that this fund is entirely separate to the Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Awards process, which will open for applications in January 2012.  To apply and to find out more information on the Arthur Guinness Fund, please go to
